What it does​

  • Reads the documentThai ID card, driver licence, passport and bank book. The back of the ID card returns the laser code a DOPA card-status check uses.
  • Matches the faceThe selfie against the card photo, or the photo in the passport chip.
  • Proves livenessPassive, or active with random blink, turn and smile challenges on the device.
  • Signs the verdictActive-liveness results come back signed, so your backend checks them without trusting the client.

Measured​

  • Thai national ID card: 98.0% of fields read correctly.
  • Passport: in 95.5% of reads, the number, birth date and expiry all pass their check digits.
  • Thai driver licence: 95.14% of characters read correctly.
  • Anti-spoofing is tested to ISO/IEC 30107-3: the iBeta confirmation letter (PDF).

Two ways to run it​

  • Face to faceOur app on a device that reads the chip in the ID card or passport; the face is matched to the photo stored in the chip.

Both use active or passive liveness and include a back office for managing transactions.

Neither flow checks a card's status with the Department of Provincial Administration (DOPA) or verifies through NDID. Opening a bank account, transferable e-money or a securities account online needs those steps under Bank of Thailand and SEC rules, and your system connects them; the laser code from the back of the ID card is what the status check takes.

Pricing​

Billed per call in iApp Credits: a check that returns a result is billed whether it passes or fails, a request that returns an error is not, and there is no minimum or contract. A full verification is ID card OCR (1.25 IC), active liveness (1 IC) and face verification (0.3 IC), about ฿3.20 at the standard rate. Every price is on the pricing page.
